Microwave Popcorn

I stole this idea from the Motherload blog. I use this "recipe" every Sunday night for our Dyer Family Movie Night. It is SO much cheaper than buying microwave popcorn. But, if you love that butter taste, you're out of luck. No replicating that in a home kitchen. Pretty sure you need a factory for that. ;)

1/3 c. popcorn
-- put it in a brown paper lunch bag
-- add:
1 good drizzle of olive oil
1 hearty sprinkling of table salt
-- fold the bag over twice, place on plate and microwave as you would a store-bought popcorn bag.

mmm. this sounds good and handy. when you say "fold the bag over twice" what does that mean? is it like a 1" fold at the top? or are you folding the whole thing? can you post a picture of the thing as it looks when you put it in the microwave for the easily confused among us? :)

ps--even better than the taste of factory-fake butter is the taste of home-melted butter drizzled over popcorn. mmm.

Brooke-- Yes, silly me! You certainly could drizzle real butter over the popcorn. :)

And, I sometimes fold, sometimes crumble the top closed-- anything to get it to stay shut. It usually hits the top of my microwave which also helps the fold to stay closed. You could even try a staple if you don't think it would set off sparks....

sweet. i can use this recipe for that homemade goodness taste and permanently retire my really lame airpopper. i can have it lightly buttered, and Michael can seperately pile on his Butter Buds. HA!
